Julian, California


An historic gold mining town, located about 1 hour east of San Diego, Julian is a town that takes its old west heritage seriously. Plenty of shopping, restaurants, art galleries and even wine tasting makes Julian a great home base for exploring rural southern California. Julian Jail
The two-cell jail, built in 1914, served as classy overnight accommodations for town drunks. For a time the jail contained the only indoor toilet in Julian.
