Mendham New Jersey - Brookside

West of Morristown, Route 124 turns into a lazy stretch of rolling hills, forests, and meadows dotted with new and historic homes, estates and parks. Suddenly there is a traffic light and you are entering the village of Mendham Borough. Mendham is a crossroads town that hasn't changed much since the 19th century. The main intersection is dominated by the Black Horse Tavern and the historic Phoenix House.

The commercial district is a well preserved collection of early American buildings with local services and restaurants. Wonderful historic properties line the Main Street and surrounding streets. Just outside of town, homes are grand and offer quite a bit of property.

Mendham Township surrounds Mendham Borough (except on the southern side) and features estates, developments, land and its own quaint historic districts: one just west of Mendham Borough's downtown--Ralston--and another hidden to the north of Route 124--Brookside. Brookside is a jewel of historic preservation, reminiscent of undiscovered small New England villages.

The southern ends of both Mendham Borough and Mendham Township, with their rolling hills and mountain views, offer some of the finest estate properties in the New York Metropolitan area.
