Manteo / Roanoke Island - Outer Banks, North Carolina
Along the main road for people from the south and west to approach the Outer Banks, Manteo, the Dare county seat tends to be mostly overlooked. But Roanoke Island, which houses Manteo has some of the most interesting attractions in the area including Festival Park, which offers a 16th century ship and outdoor concerts, the Lost Colony, the Maritime Museum and the Elizabethan Gardens.
