Padanaram - Dartmouth, Massachusetts

Padanaram is a small fishing village just south of New Beford in the town of Dartmouth. Named for a place in the bible and sometimes just called South Dartmouth, Padanaram offers a tiny main street next to a lovely harbor and marina, home to the New Bedford Yacht Club. There isn't much to do but enjoy the water views and historic homes lining the side streets. Access to the village is from Route 6, southeast of New Bedford. Look for Slocum Avenue and follow signs to Padanaram. The village is part of the Coastal Villages of Southeastern Massachusetts (look for the coastal trail signs in town) and a wonderful place to get lost for an afternoon.
