Dubbed the most historic small town in Texas, Bastrop, is set along the Colorado River, a few miles east of Austin. Named for a Dutch nobleman who turned out to be a fraud, Bastrop offers a Riverwalk and quaint downtown filled with historic buildings and interesting shops and restaurants.
