Wickford, Rhode Island
Once called one of America's Top 10 best Main Streets, its not exactly a hidden place to locals. But if all you think of Rhode Island is Newport and Providence, then this is absolutely worth a visit. Situated just north of the Newport Bridge, Wickford has an amazingly intact business district surrounding the village's marina. Antiques, clothes, toys, galleries, and garden shops line the main thoroughfare, while ancient clapboard homes lead down to the water. Need more incentive? Check out these photos...
