Tiverton Four Corners, Rhode Island

Okay, we'll start with the important stuff. Gray's Ice Cream is consistantly voted one of the top ice cream places in the US. I can vouch for its tastiness. But its worth a visit, if you're anywhere near Providence, for the rest of this tiny blip of a village on Rhode Island's craggy eastern coast. About four miles south of Downtown Tiverton and Route 24 (the road from Massachusetts to Newport), Tiverton Four Corners, so named as the intersection of Main Road and East Road in Tiverton, has a surprising number of shops and galleries. Set in antique buildings, the furniture stores, antiques, a weaver, and Milk and Honey Bazaar, an artisanal cheese shop offer plenty of options for a great afternoon.
