This county seat is so remote, there has been serious talk about abandoning it. That would definitely be a shame as there is an impressive amount of amazing Federal architecture throughout town. Located down where New Jersey's nuclear power plants thrive, Salem is a true hidden gem. There is now a major effort to revitalize this gorgeous town stuck in the middle of nowhere.
