Oley Valley, Pennsylvania

One of my favorite haunts for antiques and plants, the Oley Valley is one of the largest historic districts in the country comprising about 15,000 acres. This flat expanse of farms and stone houses, along Route 73, northwest of Philadelphia centers around the small village of Oley. Most fun drive is south from the stop light on 73 at Covered Bridge Rd (look for Rupperts Candy). The road runs through the covered bridge and past acres of farms. On a good day, the smell of manure will knock you out of your seat!
