Hallowell, Maine
I came to know Hallowell, when my parents built a second home here. Just south of Augusta, the state capital, Hallowell's 3 block Main Street overlooks the Kennebeck River. Victorian storefronts hold small, charming shops. Up the hill, the small but well tended historic neighborhoods are perfect for a morning stroll. The town hosts quite a few festivals but if you can't wait, head over to the Liberal Cup for dinner and a brew.
