Gardens

It's finally starting to look like a proper farmstead. Most of the junk's been cleared out (most of it). The vegetable gardens are started. We still have to build a permanent fence for it. We may recreate the Shaker fence we did in Finesville. Although I found a book of very nice and intricate fence posts so we'll see what happens. I guess if I do the work I can have whatever I want. So far the deer have stayed away from the flowers. All except a phlox. If they last the summer it will be a major victory. There are very few flower gardens outside of fences around here as the deer run far and wide (there are even hoof marks in the new pond). It will be a testament to Mark's gardening skills (and a little luck). but so far so good!

I've heard if you put a little pepper near your gardens it helps detour the deer away.

New to your blog and must stay it looks like you have a beautiful place.
