A small village to the east of Cooperstown, we discovered Middlefield while scoping out the area for a second home. While there, we met the couple who spearheaded the restoration of this entire town. As homes came on the market, they would purchase them and either restore them themselves or place covenants on the properties restricting what could be done to them. The result is a wonderful walking village that looks much like it probably did 150 years ago.
